Survival of the Dead is George A. Romero's most recent zombie film.

For some reason, it was met with generally negative reviews, but I really liked the movie. I thought it really touched upon not only the conflict between man against zombie, but man against man.

The film follows a group of some rouge national guardsmen as they basically look for a place to go. Along their way they meet a young man who informs them of an island he heard about in an advertisement.

The island is actually home to two families- one who believe the dead should stay dead, and the other who believe the dead can still be saved. There's a conflict over whether or not to keep the dead with them or expand the island's cemetery.

Definitely an interesting film. I thought Romero did a great job with this.
